Bowery Meat Company Opens With a 60's Vibe and Artsy Photos of Livestock on the Walls

"Josh Capon and John McDonald took over the old Veselka Bowery space on Extra Place over a year ago and finally, last night opened Bowery Meat Company. The meat palace has a 60's influenced dining room with a giant black and white photo of a vintage airplane. There are also large curved banquets, dark wood paneling, and some throwback light fixtures. The walls are decorated with photos of happy looking artsy livestock, in case diners are curious about where their diner is coming from.

Paul DiBari, who worked for the team at Lure Fishbar, is helming the kitchen and turning out a steakhouse menu with meats from Pat LaFrieda. There are the traditional steakhouse cuts and sides, but much of the rest of the menu is Italian-leaning. There are dishes like oxtail arrancini, lobster bruschetta, crispy polenta, and a duck lasagna for two. Take a look around."
